Sebastien Foucan, co-founder and world recognised Ambassador of Parkour, the most exciting new extreme sport to be launched in recent years, has unveiled a new website to convey the philosophy, manoeuvres, risks and rewards of the discipline to a global audience.
The discipline originated in Lisses, France, when a childhood Sebastien and a small group of friends developed the concept of combining movement with their urban environment in a unique, challenging and aesthetically beautiful way.
A deeply personal discipline, Sebastien has developed a philosophy behind the sport, encouraging ‘Parkouristes’ or ‘Traceurs’ to challenge themselves, as opposed to focussing on competition against others.

Many prescribe the actual beginning or creation of Parkour to a group of young teenagers in 1980's Paris, the two most famous of which -and media labeled fore-fathers of Parkour- are Sebastien Foucan and David Belle.
David Belle, being the founder of Parkour, and Sebastien Foucan, who helped form and openly preached the philosophy, have been the first to define the discipline and its philosophies.
Sebastien is often quoted as being concerned about the fact that even if there are organisations for Parkour on paper there aren't any formalised institutions that are committed to the advancement discipline over and above its commercial success.
