 Sedgley Woods History
The area takes its name from the Sedgley Estate, one of many private holdings along the Schuylkill River that were purchased to create Fairmount Park in the 19th century.
Sedgley now has three tee placements for each basket, the blue "original 1977 tees", yellow "1984" tees and red "1991" tees (4,691 feet), however all of the baskets remain in their 1978 locations.
The Sedgley Mansion was located on the south side of Girard Avenue, to the south of the course.

 Lanesfield - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Lanesfield, together with the surrounding areas of Parkfields and Ettingshall Park were incorporated into the Borough of Wolverhampton in 1966 when the Urban District of Coseley was abolished and the former Manor of Sedgley spilt between authorities.
Parkfields, and are now located on the Birmingham New Road, built in 1927.
In the 1890's, Lanesfield, because it was siutuated in the eastern area of Sedgley was separated when the Urban District of Coseley was formed; dividing the old Manor of Sedgley in two.

Having formed the resolution, three years later, to study for the priesthood, he returned to Sedgley, going afterwards to Oscott College, where he was ordained by Bishop Milner in 1820.
Perhaps his most important work is the "Life of Bishop Milner", published in 1862, which, while marred by many defects as a biography, is an important contribution to the history of Catholicism on England.

Went for a walk this morning and was the Gloucester Park trotting park anda vey nice place it is. Went and had dinner and then Harriett Sedgley called and we went over to South Perth on the ferry and home to tea with Harriett and met her brother and sisters there.
After dinner we went over to South Perth on the ferry and had a nice walk, now we are back again and have a couple of hours to kill to wait for the train at 5pm for home.
There were hundreds of Teal ducks there, for the rest of the day just walked around Perth.
