Sega's European division, Sega of Europe, is headquartered in the Chiswick area of London, England, United Kingdom.
Sega also released the Sega Saturn in Japan in 1994 and later in North America in 1995 (and was planning to realese the Sega neptune.
In 1993, the Genesis was redesigned and released as the "Sega Genesis 2".

Sega Neptune was a two-in-one Sega Mega Drive/Sega Genesis and Sega 32X console which Sega planned to release in 1994 or 1995.
Sega had admitted how expensive and problematic the 32X was, so they decided to make a combined version of the Mega Drive/Genesis and 32X, which they felt was a better idea.
Sega felt that consumers would not be interested in the Sega Neptune, so the project was scrapped.

Most believe that Sega initially was at work on a cartridge only machine, however due to the market pressure of CD becoming standard, Sega was persuaded to integrate CD storage into their machine.
Sega had admitted that the 32X was a little too expensive at the time so the idea of putting a 32X & a Genesis alltogether and releasing it with a better price was their idea, well the idea vanished faster than the speed of light.
Sega was trying to provide some type of upgrade path to the Saturn so that it can play existing 32X games, however there is a definite technological difference that makes this difficult.

Sega CD (Both Models) Incompatibility: 1.The Sega Genesis Model 3's battery/connector port is on the left side instead of right side (The Sega CD Model 1 uses a connector port on the right because the Genesis sits on the top of the Sega CD Model 1.
Sega 32X Incompatibility: 1.The Sega Genesis Model 3's cartridge flaps are shorter or longer that the other Genesis Models' so the necessary electromagnetic shield plates (Which connect to the cartridge flaps) don't fit.
When the Sega Genesis and CD Models 2 were connected, they were about the same size as the Sega Genesis Model 1.

Too bad for Sega stuff like this gave them an unfounded reputation for vaporware that probably hurt the one post Genesis system they made that could have made it, the Dreamcast.
Now Sega is a shadow of thier former selves, although rumors persist that the Dreamcast may enter production again.

Should they settle on a single system, Matsushita and Sega are expected to offer licenses to Nintendo and other game hardware and software producers in the hope of having their format adopted as an industry wide standard.
Sega of America will not be bringining it over here untill they have at least 3 games to support it.
It said Sega was considering adopting a format for a 64-bit game machine developed by Matsushita, and that the two firms could begin making and selling game machines with the same format as soon as the autumn of 1996.

Sega fans were beside themselves as they impaitently waited for the 32X to be released.
Even Sega itself seemed to be ignoring its own public statements regarding the future of the 32X, hurredly rushing the release of several titles and cancelling outright several others in order to make way for the Saturn rollout.
David Braben of Frontier Devleopments is on the record excoriating Sega for the abandoment of the never-released Neptune console.

The Sega CDX was a 16-bit video game console released in 1994, combining the Sega Genesis and one of its add-ons, the Sega CD, into single, compact unit as a final attempt by Sega to encourage consumer interest in its unpopular Sega CD format.
Overpriced and underselling due to lack of high quality Sega CD games and the anticipation of the Genesis' successor, the Sega Saturn, it was never well supported by Sega and died a quiet death.
European advertisments for the Sega Mega Drive 32X however, where it was often shown attached to a Sega Multi-Mega, suggest otherwise; upon testing, the 32X works perfectly with the Multi-Mega/CDX.

I almost singlehandedly blame it for destroying Sega's reputation and for it being the moment they "jumped the shark" and headed down the road to straight out of making consoles.
The 32x (like some other Sega stuff) is notorious for having connectors that corrode easily.
The fix for faulty 32x modules is usually as "simple" as opening them up, carefully removing the ribbon, and cleaning it up.

My friend was thrifting around at a Goodwill, and found a Sega system that both of us (we're Sega nuts) have never heard of!!!
Sega normally put the names on all of their systems, even the mythical Sega Neptune mock up had the name on it.
As for the name, I don't know, this only has a Sega logo on it.
