I've had this album since Du Hast was released on the radio, and it is awesome, perfect when I'm in a thumpin' kind of mood.
Sehnsucht was the first CD by Rammstein that I got and I have loved them ever since.
Sehnsucht is amazing...but so is all their cds.

Rammstein albums Du Hast is a song by the German Tanz-Metall band Rammstein from the album Sehnsucht as track #5.
And in a way, this album vaguely reminds me of Anthony Warlow 's Back in the Swing, in that both performers give the impression that they were just having a lot of fun recording their respective albums.

Sehnsucht was the final barrier for how Rammstein would evolve.
Herezelied and Sehnsucht had greats such as Asche zu Asche, Engel, Seemann, and Buck Dich, the band tried to emulate their rock formula one last time with their new song Adios, but after listening to it one can’t help but think, that was great, but I was expecting something more from them.

Sehnsucht, a few years later, focused more on bone-crushing Industrial/Techno Metal with crude power and aggression, and had a definitive direction not present on their first album, thus opening many eyes to a new sound and pure power chord driven song configurations.
In this album, an effective means of eliciting this same feel of catastrophic doom, despair, anger, and disbelief is accomplished by including periodic segments in many of the songs where it almost sounds like you’re listening to a vinyl record that has a few warped sections within it, causing eerie vacillating playback speed “distortion.”
This is an album that is way beyond casual listening … although most people will need a translator to understand the gist of the German lyrics, the complex moods and underlying and deliberate musical patterns within most of the songs are best suited for solitary or headphone listening.

The second album of Rammstein, Sehnsucht, is arguably their best and most complete album yet, it's a very step ahead of Herzeled putting a more futuristic sounding for Rammstein.
Sehnsucht is their most industrial album, but has heavy songs to balance...

The only criticism I would have is that a couple of songs were a bit thin, and required an extra layer of instrumentalisation (a continuous train of bass and vocalist can cause a lot of songs to "merge" into each other and sound very similar).

After moving close to three million units worldwide of their second album, the militaristic and still shockingly fresh Sehnsucht from well on nigh four years ago, well-tailored German electro-stompers Rammstein could well have afforded the time off, even though if you ask them, the last bunch of years have been quite busy and pyrotechnic indeed.
The big difference between the second and the third albums is that the second one had a strong dependency on electronic instruments, computers, samplers, and keyboards.
With the third album, Mutter, we tried to go back to the conventional instruments and only use electronic means to reinforce the music.
