In Kumamoto City, the chief attraction is the castle, which has one keep (the Uto-Yagura) dating from about 1607, but the main tower of which was rebuilt in 1960 following its destruction in the Satsuma Rebellion of 1877.
Kumamoto is the country's leading producer of watermelons and tomatoes, among other items, and first in number of eco-farmers.
(Kumamoto has a sister-state relationship with Montana, by the way, and raises a fair number of cattle.) As for drinking water, four natural springs here are recognized by the national government as being among the top 100 in Japan.

Kaiso Masayoshi Kori Hisataka (or pronounced Seiki Kudaka in Okinawan) was born in Shuri (Naha City in Okinawa) on April 22nd, 1907, and was a descendant of Seiwa, the 56th Emperor of Japan.
He studied Jiu Jitsu and studied with and exchanged with many of the great Karate masters of the time, but mostly under Master Chojun Kyamu of Okinawa Karate.
After World War II he returned to Japan to find that the Japanese people were demoralized by the war so he placed a greater emphasis on spiritual development of the individual through karatedo training.

This is a theater for a form of bunraku that has been performed in Seiwa since the late Edo period.
The architects designed a large-scale version of a conventional wood-construction structure in response to the request of, not just the town of Seiwa, but the Cultural Agency and the Forestry Agency.
The structure was made as large as the Building Standard Law permits; that is, the eaves are nine meters in height, and the maximum height is 13 meters.

He named this karatedo style based on the influences of Okinawan Karate (tode), Chinese Shorinji kempo, Ryukyu Kudaka jima Shishiryu bo jutsu, and Kudakaryu Karate jutsu along with Hakkyoku Ken and Shoalin Long Fist.
