The rim of Seleucus crater is well-formed, with a terraced inner rim and a slight rampart.
Approximately 50 kilometers to the southeast of Seleucus crater, on the Oceanus Procellarum, is the landing site of the Soviet landing craft Luna 13.

This means that no craters this size or larger have been degraded to the extent that their slopes are less than 5°-as were 80 percent of the small craters.
We may assume then that all the larger impact craters that ever formed on the upper part of the mare surface have been retained and that their relative abundances in different areas are a measure of the relative age of those areas.
A large oblong crater on the ridge near the bottom of the photograph has evidently been distorted by the ridge; in fact, the right edge of the crater seems to be cut off.

Briggs is a lunar crater that is located in the western part of the Oceanus Procellarum lunar mare, to the east of the large Struve walled-plain.
It lies to the northeast of the Eddington walled-plain, and north-northwest of Seleucus crater.
At the mid-point of the crater floor is a central ridge, extending to the north.

Careful observations demonstrated that rays were centered on and extended from bright craters, had lengths proportional to their source crater's diameters, were discontinuous, crossed over high and low areas without deviation, and often contained tiny bright crater pits.
The reason rays were misinterpreted is that impact cratering was inconceivable, and thus so were the immense distances that rocks could be ejected during an impact.
One peculiar ray seems to extend from near the crater Cardanus, passes Seleucus crater, and skirts the northern end of the Aristarchus Plateau.

In addition to being darker, maria are much less densely cratered and hence smoother than the terrae; most mare areas are relatively level and many occupy depressed areas.

Alexander's successor Seleucus I Nicator ordered the building of another Greek city, Seleucia; later, Uruk was refounded as a Greek town too, and king Antiochus IV Epiphanes (174-164) settled Greeks in Babylon again (text).
Seleucus' reign lasted from 312 to 281 (more...), and he was succeeded by his descendants, who continued to govern these countries for two centuries.
After the fall of the Achaemenid empire, Parthia, northeastern Iran, was governed by the Seleucid kings: a Macedonian dynasty that ruled in the Asian territories of the former Persian Empire.

At Kraft the rille entered the crater through a cleft in the rim, between the large secondary crater Krafft D on the west, and an unlettered crater (in Rukl’s “Atlas”) to the east.
A “catena” is a crater chain, yet the feature I saw looked more like a rima (or rille.) Downloading the Lunar Orbiter image revealed a valley with apparently several small craters along its length, it looked more like a small version of the Alpine Valley (Vallis Alpes) than a crater chain.

They argue that the Davy chain differs from most lunar crater chains, which result from either volcanism or secondary impacts, but is similar in appearance to the crater chains observed on the Jovian satellites.
Their models also indicate that most Earth-crossing comets and asteroids are moving too fast for fragment dispersion before impact to produce the observed crater chain length and conclude from this that the Davy chain and the Jovian satellite chains apparently result from bodies with different orbital characteristics.
