  Encroachment of the Nanny State
She is a proud conservative whose aim is to recapture the public from the all-consuming fog of liberalism which seizes them early in school and pervades almost all aspects of their lives.
Selwyn Duke wants us to know that when we're dealing with the left, we're dealing "with people who have a spiritual disease called liberalism." There is no right and wrong, only moral relativism that allows people to do anything that feels right.
Rush Limbaugh has referred to some of Selwyn's articles to launch discussions about topics such as the difference between the sexes ("genders" in PC speak,) and America's lack of toughness when it comes to fighting crime and conducting the "War on Terror." What can be done to harden our resolve?

London Alumni Function 2004, University of Otago, New Zealand
Highlights included being allowed to stand in the Prime Minister's place, and learning that the phrase "It's in the bag" originated not with Selwyn Toogood but the big green bag behind the Speaker's Chair in which MPs place petitions to Parliament.
Tours concluded, Sir Paul welcomed guests with some amusing anecdotes about the registration for the event ("Hard to believe you are all graduates of Otago...one fellow to my left...yes, you the one blushing now...filled in the Full Name section with ME...").
Many connections were revisited - former members of the infamous Selwyn Ballet, which had been mentioned in the Vice-Chancellor's speech, were keen to relate their involvement in this, regaling Head of Alumni and Development's Suze Jones with stories.

My first reaction was to dismiss the suggestion inasmuch as commenting on it would require a lot of background information on what has occurred in American journalism since I began writing professionally 55 years ago.
