Sender Freies Berlin - Sender Freies Berlin (SFB) was public radio and television service for West Berlin from 1 June 1954 until 30 April 2003.
It was the first large sender in Austria finished after the war and started its work on 22th August 1956 (however, a provisional sender already broadcasted a VHF radio programme since 1953 with 1kW).

Sabine Weber, Vice President of Scientology in Germany, justified her choice of the two districts, they had "the greatest need for information." The Scientologists wanted to instruct the residents of Steglitz and Zehlendorf about the work of persons and institutions of which the Scientologists disapprove.
She is the political spokeswoman of the SPD and closely allied to the Evangelical Church," said Weber.

Regarding "Delta Radio, a recently-formed commercial radio group": It is interesting to note that "recently" can refer to a period of a couple of years.
As well-known Zehlendorf and the Saarlouis- Felsberg transmitter of Europe 1 are operating with an offset of 3 kHz each, Zehlendorf on 177 and Felsberg on 183.
Both transmitters are scheduled for 180 but such a co-channel operation would result in a horrible mess in large parts of Germany, and this problem was solved by the offset arrangement.

The signal not sounds like 250 kW, here some 120 km south of Berlin Zehlendorf is audible underneath co-channel Milano only.

Telefunken Sender Systeme Berlin will organize the technical equipment for several live demonstrations.

Yesterday evening the BBC 5 Live signal in Naarden, about 20 km SE of Amsterdam, was almost wiped out in the late evening by what I presume was a DRM test.
So the BBC listeners in Western Europe profit by the silenced German transmitter at Berlin (ex-Uhlenhorst), now located at Zehlendorf north of Berlin since that date.
693 kHz at Zehlendorf was used by [now bankrupt] MEGARadio for a short period of few months only during 2002 (wb Aug 30) When the GDR was on 692/693 it was not really audible in the UK under the BBC stations; maybe they used a directional transmitter then?
