		And Sense Field was added to the line up for the soundtrack of the upcoming blockbuster Spiderman movie, only to be removed at the last minute, for political reasons (the soundtrack's label only wanted their bands on there).
		Sense Field, a band whose music is sometimes very energetic and fun, sometimes relaxing and soothing, but always inspiring, has always been to me more than just good music, but a cause.
		Sense Field will be playing at the No Picnic festival in Irvine CA, on July 2 with Beck, Built to Spill, Yo La Tengo, At the Drive In, and many others.

		Sense Field has just been released from their label Warner Brothers.
		Southern California rock group SENSE FIELD, who have recently finished recording their newest record for Warner Bros., have done a cover of The Smiths "What Difference Does it Make?" and rumor has it that it will be the first single off of the record.
		Sense Field will probably be touring again around April, this time stopping in many more cities.

		On one hand, the 'new me' Sense Field that they sing of in "I Refuse" is an excellent band.

		For a punk band, such a comparison brings a not inconsiderable amount of indignity, but it's accurate enough to help explain why Sense Field attracted the attention of Warner Bros., who signed the band a few months ago, a decision accompanied by blessedly little fanfare or Sellout Angst.
		As Sense Field's fanbase grew (each record since their 1991 debut has sold more than the one before it), distribution became a problem.
		Sense Field recently completed a two-month tour of Eastern Europe, playing places like Slovenia and Poland (!), where plumbing was nonexistent and tour promotion problematic (they would sometimes get to the gig and realize that no one remembered they were coming; audiences of five people were not unheard of).

		I have been a Sense Field fan since the early Revelation days (and before that, the Reason To Believe days) and although the edges of their sound are a lot more polished and radio friendly now, they still have that wicked melody and song writing ability.

		Sense Field's new single I Refuse may be a relatively polite affair, but anyone worried that they had lost the power and drive of their early days as emo pioneers would have been reassured by their live performance at The Garage.
		Not too much sign of the "fragile", "silky" vocals sometimes mentioned in reviews of Sense Field's recorded output - if anything his voice had a touch of the Rod Stewart rasp to it - but there was certainly no lack of energy.
		Others were less easy to identify without the benefit of a decent sound balance but the whole set gave the impression that whatever has been thrown in their path in the past, Sense Field are not going to give up without a damn good fight.
