 | | Distal sensory neuropathy is the most commonly reported type of neuropathy in the literature (Mc Reynolds, 1995). |
 | | It is characterised by hypesthesia, a decrease in tendon reflexes, loss of vibratory sensation, painful parasthesia, sensory ataxia and weakness. |
 | | Progressive polyradiculopathy is associated with cytomegalovirus of the nerve roots, which results in lower extremity and sacral parasthesia, rapidly progressing paraparesis, areflexia, ascending sensory loss and urinary retention (McReynolds, 1995).Treatment is necessary immediately to avoid irreversible nerve root necrosis. |
