  Separation Anxiety in Dogs
The probability that a dog would have separation anxiety given that it had noise phobia was high (0.88) and approximately the same as the probability it would have separation anxiety given that it had thunderstorm phobia (0.86).
Separation anxiety was diagnosed in 14 cases: presenting complaints included destruction, vocalisation and escaping in the absence of the owner; four cases also exhibited noise phobia.
Age differences were apparent among the 3 groups in relation to when the dogs were obtained, and the separation anxiety group was different from at least one of the other groups in the age when first obtained, the age the owners first noticed the problem, and the age of behavioral examination.

 Deibert: Separation of the Prepuce
Failure of the prepuce to separate from the glans spontaneously or neglect to separate the parts by artificial means results in phimosis or inability to retract the prepuce.
To effect a continuous separation of the prepuce, these cavities may actually coalesce or they may be united by a longitudinal keratinization of the epithelium intervening between the pearls.
Separation is sufficient at the 10-day stage to allow mechanical retraction without danger of a tear, apparently an important factor in completing the division.

Separation anxiety may be more likely to occur in animals with a history of abuse or of multiple homes.
Dogs with separation anxiety have a higher overall anxiety level, and drugs used as part of a treatment plan for separation anxiety need to be given regularly, not just when the dog seems anxious.
Separation anxiety can be a very frustrating and traumatic situation for both you and your dog, but with patience and proper treatment it can usually be dramatically improved.

Separation appealed not only to nativists and others with nativist sympathies but also, more generally, to all who adopted a theologically liberal posture in opposition to the Catholic church.
This may seem odd to Americans who identify their religious freedom with separation, and their positive feelings about separation are not obviously unreasonable in light of the long history of celebrating separation as an American ideal.

 Separation anxiety
If you think about separation anxiety in evolutionary terms — which is how many experts consider its origin— it makes sense: A baby would naturally get upset at being separated from the person to whom he's most bonded, and because that's the person who would protect him from straying and keep him from predators.
Babies can show signs of separation anxiety as early as 6 or 7 months, but the crisis age for most babies is between 12 to 18 months.

4.20 Separation   (Site not responding. Last check: )
Physical separation is based on the fact that most organic and inorganic contaminants tend to bind, either chemically or physically, to the fine (i.e., clay and silt) fraction of a soil.
Thus, separating the fine clay and silt particles from the coarser sand and gravel soil particles would effectively concentrate the contaminants into a smaller volume of soil that could then be further treated or disposed.
Physical separation often precedes chemical extraction treatment based on the assumption that most of the contamination is tied to the finer soil fraction, which alone may need to be treated.
