DVARP Statement on SEPTA Service Cuts   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-06)
SEPTA's reason for truncating the Ivy Ridge line at Cynwyd was bad condition of its 1930s vintage 130-pound rail--yet it did not shut down the Chestnut Hill West line because of rail conditions, on a line partly surfaced until 1994 with 100-pound rail dating from 1921.

SEPTA is in danger of intending a service to be all things to all people and ending up with a service which is too convoluted to be of any use to any people other than those most desperately dependent on public transportation.
