Nominations for the 2005 NATO Science Partnership Prize are invited for collaborators on Science for Peace projects which have been underway for at least three years.
Science for Peace grantees are eligible for nomination after the project has been active for a minimum of three years and all required Progress Reports have been submitted.
Science for Peace nominees may be any member of the collaborating teams, but must be one from a Partner country and one from a NATO country.

 AAAS R&D Funding Update on R&D in the FY 2005 National Science Foundation Budget - September 22
On September 21, the Senate Appropriations Committee drafted its version of an FY 2005 VA/HUD appropriations bill (S 2825) that would match the budget request for the National Science Foundation (NSF) in FY 2005.
The gap widens in the FY 2005 request and Senate appropriation to $1.6 billion, the distance between the $5.7 billion request and the $7.4 billion authorized level.

In 2002, the JISC established its Committee for Support of Research and although the JISC's remit is for IT support for the entire university research community rather than just science and engineering, development of the tools and technologies for e-Science are clearly an important subset of its 'e-Research' activities.
Funding from the Research Councils for RandD projects is properly focussed on the 'R' for research: JISC RandD projects emphasize the 'D' for development and are looking to establish best practice and to develop prototype research services and tools for the research community.
For this reason we have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Science and Technology in China and are developing close connections with the China National Grid programme.
