		Juga kekokohan semangat pendiri ITS, sampai-sampai tetap ngotot selama 40 tahun, emoh meniru penamaan PTN dengan asas toponimik, seperti ITB yang Institut Teknologi Bandung, atau menjiplak tradisi internasional seperti MIT atau Massachusetts Institute of Technology, serta nama institut teknologi lainnya semisal Delf di Belanda, Aachen di Jerman dan lainnya.
		Sepuluh Nopember yang hari pahlawan menjadi nama PTN Surabaya ini kini berjajaran dengan Universitas Tujuh Belas Agustus alias Untag yang PTS namun bernama mantap.
