Main sequence - Space Wiki - a Wikia wiki
The main sequence of the Hertzsprung-Russell diagram is the curve along which the majority of stars are located.
This line is so pronounced because both the spectral type and the luminosity depend only on a star's mass (to zeroth order) as long as it is fusing hydrogen—and that is what almost all stars spend most of their "active" life doing.
There are many reasons for this fuzziness, the most important one still being observational uncertainties which mainly affect the distance of the star in question but range all the way to unresolved binary stars.

 Advanced Biomedical Computing Center:SeqSpace infomation
Sequence Space implements a method of clustering aligned protein sequences based upon the algorithm developed by G. Casari, C. Sander and A. Valencia.
Each sequence is converted into a vector in "Sequence Space", projection of which onto a lower dimensional space allows 2- or 3-dimensional viewing of the resulting clusters.
By projecting the sequence residues into the same space, groups of residues specific for the clusters are revealed, allowing the identification of residues that are predicted to be directly involved in protein function.

 Space Cowboys: Cinephiles Movie Review
Space Cowboys revisits its embittered protagonist, the retired Air Force test pilot Frank Corvin (Clint Eastwood), forty years after a humiliating episode where he is replaced by a monkey for a 1958 NASA mission to space.
Space Cowboys' initial introduction of its protagonist (in the brief fl and white sequence which includes the humiliating incident with the monkey), offers a convenient setup which allows the ellipsis of forty years to hyperbolize the four characters' emotional states and to justify their subsequent actions.
Space Cowboys subtly and effectively creates an analogy between the characters and the troublesome "guidance system": while the men's present occupations are portrayed as rather useless, the guidance system's design is described as old and obsolete, yet neither the men nor the system are entirely expendable.

 Banach space Summary
This means that a Banach space is a vector space V over the real or complex numbers with a norm ‖·‖ such that every Cauchy sequence (with respect to the metric d(x, y) = ‖x − y‖) in V has a limit in V.
The space V* (which may be called the algebraic dual space to distinguish it from V') also induces a weak topology which is finer than that induced by the continuous dual since V′⊆V*.
Several important spaces in functional analysis, for instance the space of all infinitely often differentiable functions R → R or the space of all distributions on R, are complete but are not normed vector spaces and hence not Banach spaces.

Crystal Space: Sequence Manager   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-11)
Using the sequence manager it is possible to define specific events that trigger on certain conditions.
This also means that if you fire another sequence then that sequence will also get fired at the same time and depending on the relative timing of the operations some of those operations might happen at the same time.
What this basically means is that all operations of that sequence are scheduled in the engine sequence manager at the appropriate times relative to the current time.

 3.3 Sequence Numbers
For sequence number purposes, the SYN is considered to occur before the first actual data octet of the segment in which it occurs, while the FIN is considered to occur after the last actual data octet in a segment in which it occurs.
In the absence of knowledge about the sequence numbers used on a particular connection, the TCP specification recommends that the source delay for MSL seconds before emitting segments on the connection, to allow time for segments from the earlier connection incarnation to drain from the system.
Suppose, for example, that a connection is opened starting with sequence number S. Suppose that this connection is not used much and that eventually the initial sequence number function (ISN(t)) takes on a value equal to the sequence number, say S1, of the last segment sent by this TCP on a particular connection.

NKS 2006 Conference & Minicourse: RNA and NKS
Furthermore, I have shown that sequence space is structurally and functionally redundant and that sequences having a particular function are not randomly distributed in sequence space, but rather, belong to large networks interconnected by one- or two-step mutations.
Because neutral networks for different functions are interwoven throughout sequence space, arbitrary sequences are guaranteed to be near in sequence space to many (all?) functional sequences and that one- or two-step mutations can sometimes transform a functional RNA from one network, into a radically new fold and function as part of another neutral network.
Many important experiments remain to be done, including a truly systematic and comprehensive sampling of RNA sequence space that would require the synthesis and analysis of 35,000 arbitrary RNA sequences and cost $100M.

 Hilbert space Summary
In mathematics, a Hilbert space is a generalization of Euclidean space that is not restricted to finite dimensions.
The Hilbert space of plane waves and bound states commonly used in quantum mechanics is known more formally as the rigged Hilbert space.
We call H a Hilbert space if it is complete with respect to this norm, that is if every Cauchy sequence converges to an element in the space.

Genotype space (sequence space) is fully determined by genetic operators such as mutation, recombination, duplication, genome rearrangement and many others.
The distribution of neutral genotypes (sequences that fold into the same structure) is approximately random in sequence space.
Sequences at the intersection of the compatible sets of two neutral networks upon the same sequence space were found to be of actual interest since they can simultaneously carry the properties of the different RNA folds.

Ordination, as described by Higgins [2], "is used to take a set of objects, initially arranged in a high-dimensional space and represent these in a small number of dimensions, while preserving the inter-object distances as much as possible".
There are many ways in which we could define sequence space, and the advantage of the method used here if that it is based on protein sequence alone.
As the input data is a set of aligned sequences, it is reasonable to assume that they will be clustered somewhere in sequence space.

The design space for sequence data structures
A linked list is usually used to implement the sequence of descriptors (buffer pointers) and this is generally a good method because of the ease of inserting and deleting descriptors (which are frequent operations).
Another generalization would be to use two levels of recursion, that is, to use one of the recursive sequence data structures to implement the sequence of descriptors.
The recursive methods are beneficial when the sequences are quite large so we might use a two-level recursive method if the number of descriptors was quite large.
