 | | In 1959 Yugoslav Hound Judges Assembly made a rough draft of standard with the remark that the name "hound of Alps" doesnt fit the breed, which is widespread all over the country. |
 | | They proposed a new name, "fl Balkan Hound", because most of theese dogs lived in cattle regions. The sketch of standard was accepted by KSSCG on April 1,1960, and the name of the breed was finally changed to "Yugoslav Mountain Hound". |
 | | If we study the stud-book of hounds from that time, we can see that most of Hounds of Alps were descendents of Balkan Hounds.Officially, FCI accepted the standard in Warshow,May 8,1969, under the number 279. |
