Firefly was a brilliant show by the, creator of Angel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
It revolved around the exploits of this bunch of "criminals" as they made their heists, stayed beneath the radar of the totalitarian regime occupying the galaxy called The Alliance, and sometimes did some good in the process, free of charge.
Firefly was possibly the best TV series I've ever watched and I recommend that nobody ever see it.

One of the most intriguing characters on board Serenity (which is the name of the space-faring vessel of Firefly fame) is a girl with telepathic abilities who had undergone some kind of brain tampering before she and her brother make their appearance in the Firefly series.
But if it's anything like the Firefly series, the plots (clever as they often are) are really vehicles for the characters to unfold more of themselves and face dilemmas that really have no fl and white solutions.

I would say that Serenity is much larger than a jumbo jet.
Serenity might be a simmilar length to a 747, but it certainly has a lot more bulk.
The graphics are nice-looking, besides the raw awesomeness of seeing Serenity next to (well, near) ships from other 'Verses, and objects from the present world, too.

I only saw a couple of episodes of Firefly (one on a DVD that Empire magazine provided as part of a promotion for Serenity) and loved it.
Of course, after "Firefly" was canceled, Fox finally ran the first episode because TV executives like a good joke as much as anybody.
The folks in "Firefly," good and bad alike, tend to do the same things you usually scream at television people to do, before you think to scream them, except when they're doing something even better.

We havent seen Serenity, but we did buy the box set last year when it was $23 at Big W. We didnt know anything about the show, but after watching it (we havent seen the whole season yet - trying to "keep some for later") we didnt understand why it was cancelled.
And looking at it now, Firefly actually had more potential for plot diversity than Buffy or Angel ever could have yet they carried on quite well.
Our heroes' ship "Serenity" (transport vessel, "Firefly" class) is comparable -- in personality, performance, and gas mileage -- to my 13-year-old Tercel.

I had the good fortune of watching the entire Firefly boxed set Sunday after I got nicely sunburned from the Daystar over the weekend.

Since both Firefly and Serenity both draw heavily from old West themes and influences, and since we've already touched on the Han Solo parallel, I was trying to think of a Western analogue for Mal Reynolds.
Serenity is #2 nationally at the box office, despite playing at over 1,000 fewer theaters than Flightplan (#1) or Corpse Bride (#3) and not starring Jodie Foster or being directed by Tim Burton.
