These possibly refer to Ur, URA, and Urau (See BAR January 2000, page 16).
Moreover, the names of Abram's forefathers Peleg, Serug, Nahor and Terah, All appear as names of cities in the region of Haran (Harper's Bible Dictionary, page 373).
Yahweh called Abram to go to "the land I will show you", and promised to bless him and make him (though hitherto childless) a great nation.
