Serve   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-21)
When the prophet Micah told his people how to practice faith, he told them to do justice and to love mercy (Micah 6:8); When Jesus was asked about ultimate matters, part of his response was “to love your neighbor as yourself.” Practicing justice and doing acts of mercy and service put flesh on God’s love.
Caring for others in Jesus’ name in active, tangible ways 1) incarnates Christ’s presence and heart to others; 2) helps those we serve in places where they truly hurt and have need, and, 3) is a witness to those who are watching from the sidelines about the integrity and heart of Jesus’ followers.
The maturing disciple seeks to serve as Jesus served.

An Analysis of Internet Voting Security in the SERVE (Secure Electronic Registration and Voting Experiment) Online ...
The SERVE system is planned for deployment in the 2004 primary and general elections, and will allow the eligible voters first to register to vote in their home districts, and then to vote, entirely electronically via the Internet, from anywhere in the world.
Besides being restricted to overseas voters and military personnel, SERVE is currently limited to people who vote in one of 50 counties in the seven states (Arkansas, Florida, Hawaii, North Carolina, South Carolina, Utah, and Washington) that are participating.
But in addition, because SERVE is an Internet- and PC-based system, it has numerous other fundamental security problems that leave it vulnerable to a variety of well-known cyber attacks (insider attacks, denial of service attacks, spoofing, automated vote buying, viral attacks on voter PCs, etc.), any one of which could be catastrophic.

Originally developed for experienced teachers (those with four plus years in the classroom), SERVE's approach to teacher evaluation is based on an analytic rubric that outlines expectations for performance.
The language of the assessment matrix, as well as the level of expectations, raises the bar for most teachers who had experienced prior methods of evaluations based on classroom observation alone.
In an effort to promote the link between professional growth and teacher evaluation, SERVE developed the electronic resource matrix or ERMa for teachers and evaluators implementing the SERVE model of Teacher Growth and Assessment.
