 Freyja.com
Freyja owns and operates her own hall named Sessrumnir in a place named Folkvangr, where some of Her worshippers shall go to dine with her when they die.
Most accept this to mean "The-Many-Seats" for it is also a known kenning for a ship, but the sessrumnir does not include a plural for "seats" so the ship is named "The-Roomy-Seat" as well.
The word "sess" may also be used to refer a 'situation', and since one is the root for the other, it makes perfect sense.

 Freya
Here was how Freya appeared to her worshipers: the most beautiful of all goddesses, she wore a feathered cloak over her magical amber necklace as she rode through the sky in a chariot drawn by cats, or sometimes on a huge golden-bristled boar who may have been her own brother, the fertility god Frey.
When Freya was in Asgard, the home of the deities, she lived on Folkvangr ("people's plain") in a vast palace called Sessrumnir ("rich in seats").
She needed such a huge palace to hold the spirit hordes she claimed on the battlefields, for the first choice of the dead was hers, with leftovers falling to Odin.

USING TILL TEXTURES TO DETERMINE THERMAL ZONES AT THE MARGIN OF EAST ANTARCTIC OUTLET GLACIERS   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-10)
Here, we describe textural changes of Asgard till near its upper-elevation limit in Sessrumnir Valley that are best explained by deposition from polythermal glacier ice, changing from a wet-based inner zone to a frozen-based marginal zone.
Our observed textural changes, based on analyses of 5,500 clasts from Asgard till in Sessrumnir Valley, along with the mapped distribution of undisturbed ventifacts that cap colluvium beneath Asgard till, show that the thermal transition occurred over a lateral zone about 200 m in width.
This zone, which is apparent in high-elevation air photographs of Sessrumnir Valley, is concentric about the drift margin and reflects the degree to which underlying colluvial deposits were incorporated into Asgard till.

 Welcome to the South!
From previous fieldwork and recent photographic analysis, an extensive relict landscape (older than 17 million years) with landforms and erosional features characteristic of temperate glaciations has been delineated.
This relict landscape has been called the "Sessrumnir erosion surface," and covers almost 10,000 square kilometers in three fault blocks of the Tran Antarctic Mountains (Convoy, Dry Valleys, and Royal Society).
It is on this relict land surface that data will be collected which record Middle and Early Miocene glacial history and pale climate.
