| | Oscar set designer recalls classic Hollywood glamour (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-05) |
 | | As part of his set design for the 78th Academy Awards, Roy Christopher incorporated what appear to be 20-foot-tall frosted glass Oscars flanking the stage of the Kodak Theatre. |
 | | This is Christopher's 17th time designing the Oscar set, and this year, he calls it a "no-holds-barred return to classic Hollywood glamour, paying homage to old movie theaters." It's opulent, retro and a reminder of why the awards have endured since that first banquet May 16, 1929. |
 | | The design incorporates marquees, a small stylized box office, rotating posters, and three screens, one which looks like it belongs in a movie palace, another resembling a 1950s CinemaScope holdover and a third providing a downstage canvas on which clips and scenic elements will be projected. |
