He was first mentioned and appeared in the episode Seth when the Tok'ra Jacob Carter visited Earth to tell the SGC that the Tok'ra tried to locate all System Lordss and they realised that they couldn't find Seth.
When Seth tries to flee he is killed by Samantha Carter, who uses a Goa’uld hand device to slam him into the floor.
Seth was one of the few Goa'uld to have a set of unique helmeted Guards, the others being the Serpent Guards of Apophis (of whom Teal'c had been the leader) and the Horus Guards of Ra and Heru-ur.

As far as I know Seth has only been in one episode and that is the same one as where she learns to use the ribbon device/ hand device.
You may of course have seth mixed up with Cronos, or I could be mixed up, but I would put money on it being you.
If an electrical shock is enough to rid a person of the drug (eg zat shot) then maybe Seth was worried that someone would electrocute themsleves boiling a kettle and get very pissed for being made a snipety-do-dah eunuch and go on a rampage.

And we all know that the stargate, naquada, and the ancients were all together on Earth at the same time.
a stargate, creating stocks of stargate for further installation on other worlds doesn't seem far fetched, especially when considering that the ancients were builders of the gates.

Horus defeated Seth to become king of Egypt, and the living Pharaohs of Egypt were usually identified with Horus in rituals.
Technically he wasn't an evil deity as such (the Egyptians were very broad-minded about these things, like a lot of Ancient religions there wasn't a line between good and evil deities) but has come to be regarded as one.
This is partly because of the murder of Osiris, and partly because Seth was the patron deity of the Hyksos people who invaded and conquered Egypt in around 1678 BC (Yes for those of you who read these things, the Highlander novel got it about right)
