Mitt liv i Sverige och Japan(Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-22)
It is Setsubunn in Japan on February 3rd which means it is the end of the winter in the old calendar, that is, it is spring coming tomorrow.
Setsubunn, the word itself means to mark an end of a season.
People usually eat a rolled sushi (usually it is long enough to eat the whole roll for one person) for each but no one is allowed to speak until they finish eating the whole rolled sushi.
What is more, we are supposed to face to a direction, which changes every year, but it is south-southeast this year, while we are eating the sushi.
