  Brad Pitt: Seven - Movie
Rarely does a movie like this come to be made without a group of talented people behind it, and watching the movie, every one of them should be complimented.
If you ask ten movie fans what their favorite David Fincer movie is, eight are probably going to say 'Fight Club.' I am one of the minority.
Seven is frightening because the events in the world represented in the film could all too easily be real, and that is an entirely different type of fear.

 Seven Samurai Review
More than anything else, this movie serves as one of the supreme examples of the art of storytelling on film, and even at over three hours in length, the story and characters are so engrossing, the time seems to fly by quickly.
The odds are not good, with seven samurai having to defend a village on all borders against a team of 33 bandits.
I admit it was a little distracting at first, having seen the movie countless times, but I got used to it quickly and enjoyed the more immersive audio experience and the extra dynamic range brought out by the music score and the action sequences.

 Seven Samurai
Seven Samurai has a modern—and surprisingly bitter—sexual edge, most vividly expressed in the languorously extended shot of a woman driven half-mad by brutality as she seizes the chance to avenge herself on her captors.) Even the bandits’ deaths are made into ghastly, appalling affairs by the villagers’ ravenous appetite for revenge.
The movie’s action scenes cover the spectrum of moral and physical complexity, from the waste of life that occurs when samurai’s pride goads him into fighting a suicidal duel, to the climactic battle staged in a freezing rainstorm as the combatants flounder at each other amidst buckets of mud.
The movie contains so many visual riches that Kurosawa can afford to gloss over some of them: at the climax of a raid on the bandits’ hideout, he cuts away from three eye-popping shots of the burning cabins so quickly that their effect is nearly subliminal.

"Seven" has a methodical serial killer slicing and dicing his victims in a manner he feels fits their crimes — that is, an overindulgence in one of the seven deadly sins.

And the first half of of the film goes to great lengths to stay away from such movie stereotypes as maverick cops kicking down doors, waving their firearms and shooting at anything that moves.

Dark, disturbing and occasionally gory, SEVEN is a psychological thriller that, along with Chinatown, is among the bleakest films in mainstream cinema history.
Seven combines horror and film noir genres, with overconfident rookie David Mills (Brad Pitt) as the doomed detective of the noir tradition, and book veteren William Somerset as the desexualized, pedantic survivor familiar to slasher movie fans.
Mills and Somerset conclude that each murder corresponds to one of the seven deadly sins from the Bible, and that the killer is trying to preach his message of religious morality through his murders and the press they receive.
