Seven Minutes In Heaven - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Seven Minutes In Heaven is a basic kissing game wherein two, usually randomly selected, participants are left alone in a closet or similarly dark area for a specified period of time, canonically seven minutes.
Although the game is canonically played with the selected coupled sealed away for seven minutes, this need not always be the case.
The extent to which Seven Minutes in Heaven is a game is unclear.

Seven More Minutes is the long-awaited result: a catchy, poppy-yet-dissonant album that isn`t quite Weezer, but very enjoyable in it`s own right.
In fact, a lot of the vocals on Seven More Minutes are duets between Sharp and either Petra Hayden or those other singers.
There are a few change of pace songs, like the acoustic shuffling of "She Says It`s Alright," which is later reprised with about a minute of the chorus towards the end of the album.

The Rentals - Seven More Minutes
Seven More Minutes, which, to some, might sound like an in-joke about the band's time left on Warhol's "15 minutes" scale (like Sugar Ray's awful "14:59"), is actually a reference to the snooze button on an alarm clock: "The alarm keeps going off...and you keep hitting the snooze.
Seven more minutes," writes Sharp in the album's liner notes.
To understand how he could come up with this title (it's more than just the average person's desire to sleep in) one must first understand how this album came to be.

To say that Seven More Minutes has been hotly anticipated would be an understatement of almost criminal scale.
The tracks on Seven More Minutes that reprise the same buzzpop feel as its predecessor are a lot of fun, especially "Getting By" (the single, predictably enough).
Sharp's tragic flaw is that he spreads his ideas too thin - the songs drag on for too long, and two of the tracks on Seven More Minutes are essentially remakes of songs from 1995.

Twenty-nine minutes passed between the time United Airlines 175, the second plane, slammed into the south tower (at 9.02am) and the time President Bush announced there had been an “apparent terrorist attack.” Seems like an awfully long time.
Apart from the president, sixty-five minutes passed between the time American Airlines 77 flew into the Pentagon (9.45am) and the forced evacuation of Washington DC’s federal buildings took place; one hour and fifty-one minutes between the strike at the second tower and the postponement of New York’s primary elections.

Music Review -- The Rentals -- Seven More Minutes   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-08)
Considerably more down-tempo than the rest of the album (as well as most typical Weezer songs), it's a melancholy track that contains the lyric which gave this album its name.
While Seven More Minutes is a fairly inaccessible album on the first couple listens, it's clear that The Rentals have grown as a band both emotionally and musically.
While a lot of the album is an elemental mix of punk tinged pop, the more complex moments hint at the kind of potential the band may live up to in the future.

Weezer, the mid 90s staple in alternateen garage rock, has returned in its alter-ego form, The Rentals, and this time the results are promising.
In Seven More Minutes, headman Matt Sharp convincingly demonstrates a wealth of creativity and originality underutilized in his subdued role as bassist and back-up vocalist for Weezer.
The Rentals' first album, a minimally successful self-titled release, contained the primordial elements of electronically influenced guitar rock in the radio hits "Friends of P." and "Move On" that are fully realized here.
