 Ontario Basque Club - Mus
The card factory Fournier of Vitoria-Gasteiz published some rules which include the use of 8 kings and the non-validity of the royal 31 (3 sevens and a face card.) However, in the world championships celebrated since 1978, the regulations include the use of 4 kings and the royal 31.
Larramendi suggests that the game of mus is as old as the cards themselves.
Mus is a proposal that all four players should have a chance to improve their hands by discarding one or more cards.

 Parlett's Original Card Games: Ninety-Nine
Middle-ranking cards are unreliable in either respect, so it is usually best to discard Jacks, Tens and Nines as bid-cards and to retain Aces, Kings, Sevens and Sixes as trick-winners and losers respectively.
Ninety-Nine was designed to meet the need for a skill-demanding Whist-like game for three players, but it works almost as well for four and sports quite satisfactory versions for two and five players.
Alternatively, a game is 100 points and the overall winner is the first to win three games.

Burn! - Free strategic card game for download - Easy to learn
If a player has no Sevens or no card that is one higher or lower than the running suits on the table, that player must pick a card to "burn." The ranks of all cards burned by each player are summed at the end of the hand (Six=6 pts., Nine=9 pts., King=13 pts., etc.).
"Burn!" is a single-deck card game of strategy and luck.
A card is playable if it is either a Seven (always playable), or a card in suit that is one rank higher or lower than the ones already played.

Rules of Card Games: Red Carpet
If a pair of cards has been bid-on at all, bidding terminates when all players but one have passed, and is won by the last (and highest) bidder.
Finally, the "Red Carpet" (both red aces and both red sevens) is worth 100 points, the highest-scoring hand of all.
One may keep track of bidding points using poker chips or coins, or by using the 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 of the card deck (all cards are exposed to start; symbols are covered as points are spent).

 Replies
Marking Fizzbin cards is punishable by death, and the traditional, ceremonial rules, steeped in superstition, seem most strange by Earth standards, but on Beta Antaries Four, their faithful observation is the framework of civilization itself.
At the end of the hand, when the last card is drawn, if one or more players have attained the same highest rank, the game is given to the one who first pins his opponent to the floor.
A Three-Quarter Fizzbin is a Three, a Five, a Six, an Eight, a Nine, and a Ten, all of them red cards except at night they must be all black cards.

 Rules of card games: Canasta
Note that if a team has at least one completed canasta, the values of their melded cards (item 4) are always added to their score, even if these cards form part of an incomplete canasta of aces, sevens or wild cards (item 2) for which the team is to be penalised.
Canasta bonuses are lower than in other versions: 300 for a wild card canasta or a natural canasta; 200 for a mixed canasta.
If this canasta was already complete in your hand before your turn, and you also have a natural pair of a different rank that matches the top card of the discard pile, you can use the pair to take the discard pile in the same turn.
