Sexual fetishism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sexual fetishism, first described as such by Alfred Binet in his Le fétichisme dans l’amour, though the concept and certainly the activity is quite ancient, is a form of paraphilia where the object of affection is a specific inanimate object or part of a person's body.
As Sigmund Freud described it later, sexual fetishes in men are the result of childhood trauma regarding castration anxiety.
It has been hypothesized that human sexuality may similarly be tied to conditioning, and this may explain the phenomenon of sexual fetishism.

Sexual identity - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-15)
Sexual identity is the sex with which a person identifies, or is identified.
When considering the case of transgender and transsexual individuals and their sexual identity, many specialists now agree that the greatest importance ought to be placed upon aligning internal gender identity with outward sexual physiology.
The understanding that a person has of his or her own sexual identity is perhaps never complete because that person may continue to grow and change psychologically -- and learning involves physical changes in the brain.

 Centre for Plant Biodiversity Research
Agamic complexes typically include a series of polyploid sexual, facultatively or obigately agamospermous microspecies, which are largely the result of various hybridizations among sexual diploid and sexual polyploid members of the complex.
The resultant polyploid agamic complex is comprised of a myriad clones that appear morphologically to represent a giant hybrid swarm, which is usually of multiple hybrid origin from among several sexual relatives.
Sexual populations appear to be reproductively isolated by ecological mechanisms and as a result when two species grow in close proximity hybrids often occur (Bayer 1987a; Bayer, Purdy & Lebedyk 1991).

It is clear that these characters are the result of sexual and not of ordinary selection, since unarmed, unornamented, or unattractive males would succeed equally well in the battle for life and in leaving a numerous progeny, but for the presence of better endowed males.
Our difficulty in regard to sexual selection lies in understanding how it is that the males which conquer other males, or those which prove the most attractive to the females, leave a greater number of offspring to inherit their superiority than their beaten and less attractive rivals.
The variations thus induced are preserved and accumulated by sexual selection, which is in itself an extremely complex affair, depending, as it does, on the ardour in love, the courage, and the rivalry of the males, as well as on the powers of perception, the taste, and will of the female.

Rum and Monkey: Article: The Oedipus Complex and Star Wars by Brian
To the well-honed analytical mind of a modern psychiatrist, it is clearly seen as a tale centred on the Oedipus complex, one of the bases of modern psychiatry, and the most important discovery of the brilliant scientist Sigmund Freud.
Star Wars sheds new light on the complex, showing the tragic consequences of sexual abuse, and the conflicts and abnormalities that can arise when a child is brought up without a mother.
The Oedipus complex occurs during the "Phallic" stage of sexual development, when a boy first discovers that his penis can be a source of sexual pleasure.

Paradoxically, when teens were asked whether they think in general they have more sexual experience, about the same, or less than their friends, only about half of teens (49%) think their own behavior is typical, regardless of whether they date or not.
Sexually experienced teen girls also feel inexperienced compared to the teen boys with whom they are involved.

Sex is pleasurable; the desire for sexual pleasure, according to Freud, is one of the oldest and most basic urges that all humans feel.
Freud says that sexual desires are instinctual, and that they appear in the most fundamental acts in the process of nurturing, like in a mother nursing an infant.
Because the act of sucking is pleasurable (and, for Freud, ALL pleasure is sexual pleasure), the baby forms a bond with the mother that goes beyond the satisfaction of the baby's hunger.

Assessing and Treating Child Sexual Abuse
Before you can adequately assess or treat children who have been sexually abused, it is important to have a solid grasp of how and why sexual abuse happens, the typical effects of abuse on children, and the child behavior and relationship problems caused by abuse (Osmond, et al., 1998).
Trauma assessment is the process used to understand the impact of sexual abuse on a child and the extent of the damage.
Sexually abused children are not a homogeneous group requiring identical treatment (Beutler, et al., 1994).

Free Love in Oneida (Foster) - CESNUR 2002   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-15)
As the first chapter of this document clearly shows, Noyes’s demand for ultimate control over the sexual lives of his followers was perhaps the most significant test of the total loyalty of his disciples and caused many of his followers, who otherwise were in accord with Noyes in his religious principles, to break with him.
Control over sexual freedom by means of "ascending fellowship," in which Noyes and those he authorized supervised and exercised their prerogatives with those deemed as being of lesser "spirituality," was critically important if the whole system was to be kept from degenerating into random licentiousness that would splinter the community into a thousand fragments.
Although the detailed discussion of many of these sexual issues is not highlighted until later in the manuscript, readers must keep in mind the complex sexual undercurrents that had an impact on other, more public aspects of community life during the late 1840s and early 1850s.

Since there is a great deal of variation in the mother complex, we need to identify the particular alignment an individual has with the mother archetype.

Genes exert powerful effect on sexual behavior
CORVALLIS, Ore. — New research has shown that the manipulation of a single gene in female fruit flies can make their sexual behavior resemble that of males, in a study that demonstrates the power of individual genes and the profound impact of genetics on complex sexual behavior.
Genetic mechanisms to build the nervous system may be especially important in fruit flies - most of the behaviors they exhibit are largely programmed by birth, and they are ready to mate within 24 hours after emerging from their pupa.
The study also suggests, Taylor said, that there is a strong biological basis for sexual behavior and orientation, clearly in fruit flies and almost certainly in most other animal species.

Being more “sexually fit” and improving your sex life are well within your control, but it is necessary to provide your body with the fuel it needs, if you expect “high performance”!

San Francisco, CA, February 12, 1998 -- Many middle class gay and bisexual men in San Francisco are struggling to navigate the complexities of gay life in the city -- from the plethora of sexual opportunities to thorny issues of race -- and do not place HIV at the top of their list of concerns.
Realizing that simple messages of "use a condom every time" were not addressing the intricacies of what sex means to gay men, the AIDS Foundation commissioned UCSF’s Center for AIDS Prevention Studies to conduct a study that would serve as a basis for a thorough revamping of the AIDS Foundation’s prevention programs.
Study participants viewed traditional HIV risk reduction strategies and messages that urge condom use 100 percent of the time as too simplistic and of limited value in helping men address the complex sexual environments and choices they face in their sexual lives.
