	Sexy Losers - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Sexy Losers is an adult webcomic by Clay, a Canadian living in Japan, who from 2001 to 2004 was known under the pseudonym "Hard." The strip has a significant following; its web hosting company's promotional material indicated that it received one million unique visitors in August 2003.
		A number of comics during the first half year were "jam strips" in which artist friends would contribute a panel to a pre-written and layed-out comic, a practice that became less frequent when Clay moved to Japan in July 1999.
		In 2001 the strip was renamed Sexy Losers due to events in Clay's personal life and his wish to give the comic a less otaku-sounding name.

		Sexy Losers starts out promisingly enough, poking fun at what men must think of women who draw or write erotica, how a fanboy might react if his animated fantasy girl was made flesh, and some pretty clever movie parodies.
		Sexy Losers has some of the the nicest artwork seen in a webcomic (especially among the manga-style ones) with intricate backgrounds (something you rarely ever see in a 4-panel gag strip), yet not ONE acknowledgement towards the hours of effort put into the drawing and colouring?

		There's no other way to describe Sexy Losers than "shock humor." The comic is funny because every time you get to the punch line you want to avert your eyes, particularly when it comes to the "Horny Mom" storylines.
		For the most part, I like Sexy Losers — which is a surprise to me. I get frustrated with movies and stand-up comics if their jokes revolve solely around sex.
		I don't recommend Sexy Losers on a consistent basis, but every now and then if you're in the mood for shock humor it can be a lot of fun.

		My thoughts on the disastrous first adaptation can be found here, and one could be forgiven for thinking that the 21st Century version couldn't help but benefit from the current renaissance in comic book movies.
		In some ways I guess this is true; the film lifts assassins and a trio of supporting losers from the recent 'Welcome Back Frank' stroyline, and the film is certainly better made than the Dolph Lundgren one.
		My heart sank on the appearance of the trio of losers, I was counting down to he inevitable 'Frank learns to love puppies again' moment.
