Beast might even be the most important, for it was the first game to really stretch Jay Miner's custom chips and be manifestly superior to the ST version.
What really made Beast stand out at the time was the super-smooth 50 fps screen update, which gave it an authentic arcade feel and proved impossible to replicate on an ST or contemporary PC.
We've seen a lot better since 1989, but Shadow of the Beast is undoubtedly one of the first "real Amiga games", as AUI magazine put it, and retains a quirky charm even today.

Shadow of the Beast was released for many oldschool systems, I can think of at least four off the top of my head, I'm sure there were probably a couple more I'm not remembering.
Shadow is a side scrolling action game laid out in a non-linear fashion, yet you have to proceed through the game in a set order of events or you'll never beat it.

SOTB is the pinnacle IMO of 16bit graphics, clearly there are better for different reasons, but this just is so amazing.........but even i a die hard must admit the Amiga version control is suck.
