The Shah's third wife was Farah Diba (born October 14, 1938), daughter of Sohrab Diba, Captain in the Imperial Iranian Army, and his wife, Faredeh Ghotbi.
They were married in 1959, and Farah was created Shahbanu, or Empress, a title created especially for her.
Farah Diba bore him four children: Farah Diba Farah Diba (born October 14, 1938 in Tehran, Iran) (also known as Farah Pahlavi) was the third wife of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi of Iran and the Shahbanu (Empress) of Iran.

Shahbanu’s husband appealed to the Supreme Court against this decision, arguing that under Muslim Personal Law, he had no responsibility to pay maintenance to his divorced wife, and therefore Section 125 did not apply to him.
Shahbanu herself endorsed this demand, condemning the court’s judgment in a public letter addressed to all the Muslims, despite the fact that it supported her claims.
In all the discussions surrounding the Shahbanu case, which was interpreted as a discussion of the religious identity of Muslims in India, Shahbanu the woman- her personal story, suffering, difficulties and interests- were lost inside the discourse of religious identity.

Sure, actually, Irandokht and the other Shahbanu (pardon my forgetfulness) were rather memorable monarchs, as far as I've learned.
The chador women wore was not necessarily forced on them, I think, it was more a sign of high class- but nevertheless, it exisred.
