		Shahid Beheshti University was primarily a private university until 1979, a year after the Islamic Revolution.
		It was subsequently renamed as Shaheed Beheshti University.

		Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and Health Services is a large medical school in northern Tehran, Iran.
		The school was founded in 1960 as part of Shahid Beheshti University, and was re-structured in 1986 when it separated off onto its own.
		Apart from its teaching and research commitments, the university is also responsible for health care provision to a community of four million people living in northern and northeastern Tehran and the neighbouring cities of Damavand, Firouzkooh, Varamin and Pakdasht.

		The Shahid Beheshti library becomes the fourth United Nations depository library in Iran.
		A simple ceremony was recently held at the Shahid Beheshti's Central Library to mark the opening of a section containing UN documents and publications.
		They expressed their satisfaction at their university having won the status of a UN depository library, hoping that it would benefit both the students and professors and thanked the UN Information Center, in Tehran, for the cooperation they had received all along.

	Foreign students culture festival opens in Tehran
		Iranian Minister of Science, Research, and Technology Mohammad-Mehdi Zahedi and a number of foreign ambassadors and charges d'affaires attended the opening ceremony.
		A total of 220 Afghan, Tajik, Vietnamese, Iraqi, Lebanese, Somali, Syrian, and Chinese graduates of Iranian universities are showcasing their handicrafts and traditional customs in the festival, which runs until July 24.
