Shanghai Jiao Tong University (abbreviated Jiao Da (交大) or SJTU), is one of the oldest and most influential universities in China.
The university recently received much attention due to its widely publicized Shanghai Jiao Tong University ranking project, which is an ongoing large-scale project to provide independent rankings of universities around the world.
Currently, most administrative and academic framework of the university and the majority of undergraduate and graduate students were moved to this campus, which is now accompanied by the newly built Minhang Campus of East China Normal University.

Shanghai, China - Officials at the U-M Medical School and Shanghai Jiao Tong University have announced a memorandum of understanding on collaboration, which they characterize as a new-age partnership.
SJTU and UMMS expect to form a working committee that will oversee the collaboration, which covers areas such as infrastructure; premedical, basic science and clinical curriculum development; faculty development; student and faculty rotations; and philanthropy.
Shanghai Jiao Tong University, formerly the Nang Yang Public School, was founded in 1896 and includes many of China's leaders among its distinguished alumni.

Through cooperation with U-M, SJTU will keep pace with should run abreast of world famous universities in the aspects of education, scientific research, faculty development and academic school administration, and improve its faculty and students' quality and ability in internationalization.
SJTU is expected to construct a new building in Shanghai in the future to house institute programs, said Stella Pang, associate dean for graduate education in the U-M College of Engineering.

The ECE Department has established an undergraduate student exchange program with Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), which will enable Carnegie Mellon students to study in China and SJTU students to come to Carnegie Mellon, for a semester each.
