Shanghai Jiao Tong University, (Simplified Chinese: 上海交通大学; Traditional Chinese: 上海交通大學; Pinyin: Shànghǎi Jiāotōng Dàxué; abbreviated Jiao Da (交大) or SJTU), is one of the oldest and most influential universities in the People's Republic of China.
Shanghai Jiao Tong University is usually regarded as one of the two best universities in Shanghai, the other being Fudan University.
Now, almost all of administrative and academic frameworks of the university and all of the students, including bachelors,graduates and doctors were moved to this campus, which is now neighbored with the new built Minhang Campus of East China Normal University.

Wayne Higby, professor of ceramic art in the School of Art and Design at Alfred University, was awarded an honorary professorship earlier this month as part of the official dedication ceremonies for Shanghai University’s new Fine Arts building.
Higby was also the invited speaker for the "Symposium for Fine Arts Education in the 21st Century," organized by Shanghai University to commemorate the occasion.

Shanghai is a modern city with good living facilities, so you will feel less culture shock.
Shanghai is more cosmopolitan and expensive, but Beijing is certainly highly developed too with plenty of foreigners and the sort of comforts we're used to are available for a price.
I did tried to study in shanghai for 1 week when I went to shanghai last year..at iMandarin..it's only 2 people in the class..but i have to say the teacher are pretty good and the syllabus is very well prepared.

Jiang Zemin's alma mater, this university is well-kept, and well-funded.
The school is home to Shanghai's only Fine Arts Institute, but its way way out in the new campus (huge open spaces and buildings that have a kind of hospital atmosphere).

BEIJING, Aug. 16 (UPI) -- Shanghai's Fudan University plans to offer a course on homosexuality to undergraduates next fall, the first by a Chinese school for non pre-med students.
Sun Zhongxin, an associate professor of sociology at the university told state-run media the class will cover topics related to homosexuality including health, legal and social issues.
Fudan University offered a limited enrollment graduate seminar on gay and lesbian studies in 2003.
