Going to Shannon (Sionna) was actually unintended, but as we realized we'd have a hard time getting from Galway to Shannon Airport in time for our flight on Tuesday, we decided to move south one day early, and find a BandB in Shannon itself.
As we were driving through Shannon Town on the bus earlier, my fears came true.
It quickly became clear that the town had grown because of the airport (much like Billund in Denmark, and I can tell you - staying there is no picnic either!), and therefore it was a very young town, very modern and very dull.
