Shantou University – An Experiment in Internationalisation
Shantou University, located along the south east coast of China, on the far eastern end of the Guangdong province, has all the trappings of a modern university.

University operations were left to the device of administrators who either succumbed to their local compatriots’ expectations of clan loyalties being put above rational goals, or who had come from other provinces and experienced alienation from the predominant local culture.
