Sheila Scott Macintyre (April 23, 1910 - March 21, 1960) was a Scottish mathematician whose first paper, on the asymptotic periods of integral functions, was published in 1935.
Macintyre is, perhaps, best known for creating a multilingual scientific dictionary: written in English, German, and Russian; at the time of her death, she was working on Japanese.
Macintyre received her PhD from Aberdeen in 1947; her thesis was entitled Some problems in interpolatory function theory.

Macintyre received his Cambridge Ph.D. in 1933 and was appointed Lecturer in Mathematics at King's College, Aberdeen (later Aberdeen University) in 1936.
Macintyre was married to a fellow mathematician (and student of Dame Mary Cartwright and E.M. Wright), Sheila Scott (1910-1960) of Edinburgh, who shared research interests with her husband and was a Lecturer at Aberdeen University and the University of Cincinnati (see [MLC], [FF] for tributes to Sheila Scott Macintyre).
A.J. Macintyre was a member of the Cambridge Philosophical Society; he made significant contributions to complex function theory and had wide and deep interests in classical analysis and applied mathematics, including mechanical problems of aircraft control, the design of sailing ships and resonance of nonlinear oscillations.

Scott returned to Scotland to train as a teacher and she taught for five years in a number of schools from 1934.
During this period Whittaker introduced Sheila Scott to A J Macintyre who was a mathematics lecturer at Aberdeen University.

I thought it might be useful to reference who is in the same Macintyre clan as me, and identify various other Macintyres that are out there in Internet land with whom I am not related except we share almost the same name or identity.
I was born 8 Feb 1944 in Aberdeen Scotland to A.J. Macintyre and Sheila Scott.
Here is a link to MacIntyre Electrical Estimating Software using Microsoft Excel which sounds like it might be extremely useful where I work, but this is another Macintyre other than myself.
