Shelduck - The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds
The shelduck is a mainly white duck, larger than a mallard but smaller than geese such as greylag and Canada.
The shelduck breeds among dense vegetation in holes, often old rabbit burrows, gaps under old buildings — or occasionally off the ground in a tree — near to coastal sandbars and mudflats.
Shelducks are found mainly in coastal areas, although they can also be found around inland waters such as reservoirs and gravel workings.
