By 1818 Shelley was living in Italy where he produced The Cenci; the satire on English poet William Wordsworth, Peter Bell the Third (1819); and Prometheus Unbound.
Other works of the period are ‘Ode to the West Wind’ (1819); ‘The Cloud’ and ‘The Skylark’ (both 1820); ‘The Sensitive Plant’ and ‘The Witch of Atlas’; ‘Epipsychidion’ and, on the death of the English poet John Keats, ‘Adonais’ (1821); the lyric drama Hellas (1822); and the prose Defence of Poetry (1821).
In 1816, the Shelleys stayed beside Lake Geneva, Italy, with English writer Lord Byron, and their friendship continued until Percy Shelley's death by drowning while sailing in Italy in July 1822.

West Yorkshire Voices is not only working to build links between three schools in Huddersfield, but it also involves these schools working with three different parts of the BBC - radio, television and online.
There is a radio studio in Turnshaws School in Kirkburton, some of the students at Almondbury High are making a television documentary about the whole Voices project and the pupils at Shelley High have taken up the challenge to create webpages for our BBC West Yorkshire website.
Shelley has a group of very dedicated students who stay on after school every night just to make pages for the Voices section on this website.

Shelley Pyramid Junior Netball Club runs every Monday at Shelley High School for girls in years 7 and 8 and regularly has up to forty girls attending training sessions.
