It became generally accepted that the real cause of Shellshock was emotional disturbance produced by warfare itself, by chronic conditions of fear, tension, horror, disgust and grief.
Shellshock was so obviously a retreat from the war that many military authorities refused to treat victims as disabled.

Shellshock: Nam ’67 is a third person shooter and follows your character, an unnamed rookie soldier on his first tour of duty as he embarks on missions to search villages and take out VC strongholds.
Graphically Shellshock: Nam ’67 look pretty good, the jungle environments feature a good level of detail and are thickly populated with all kinds of plant life while mist effects are spot on.
Shellshock: Nam ’67 may have tried to use shock tactics for publicity but in the end it’s actually a good action packed game that will get your adrenaline pumping as you frantically try to avoid enemy bullets while you reload your gun.

Shellshock was originally scheduled to be released a couple of months ago, but Eidos delayed the release of the game because it said that the market wasn’t clamoring for another Vietnam-era FPS.
Shellshock has a lot of licensed music in the game from artists such as Sonny and Cher, Roy Orbison, and the Monkees.
All I have to do is say, “Shellshock: Nam ’67.” If there were a way to “Mystery Science Theater 3000” a game, this would be considered one of the best games to do that with.

Shellshock begins with a gritty introduction focusing on the length and such of the Vietnam conflict - setting the mood for the violent and horrifying setting of Vietnam in the late 60s.
Shellshock moves at a slow pace by default, but the pitch on the right analog (for looking) is rather slow.
Shellshock certainly doesn't live up to the title of a horrific Vietnam simulation, but it may be worth a rental for those interested in the genre.

In Shellshock: Nam '67, its niche is being ultra realistic, which is supposed to bring you back in the days of Nam, showing you all of the violence that took place during the war.
When I look at Shellshock: Nam '67 I see a game that had a list of ideas that on paper seem like they would have made into a great game, but instead the developers didn't make do with their own ideas.
Shellshock: Nam '67 has some ideas that could have been made into a good shooter, but the execution wasn't all there for the game, and therefore we are left with a game that has the potential to be great but ends up not.

Shellshock's angle is a blend of slightly arcadish combat and brutal real world war, but being single player only, does it bring enough to the table to be considered a unique addition to this flourishing genre?
It is somewhat unfair to place blame as having similar locations for each mission is authentic to the Vietnam environment, however other factors like repetitive enemies and a reasonably plain storyline mean the general experience isn't very fresh.

Oddly enough, Shellshock: Nam '67 is a game about an American and Vietnamese war made by some guys in Belgium and published by a company in England.
Shellshock also manages to remedy one of the major shortcomings of action games since the early '80s: the lack of Vietnamese whores.
Shellshock is one of the few shooters I've played where cover really matters.

ShellShock: Nam '67 puts players in the shoes of one of three characters who starts out as a fresh "cherry" on the frontlines and works his way up to one tough son of a bitch U.S.S.F. (United States Special Forces) soldier during the conflict in Vietnam.
Movement is handled via the dual-analog sticks, you zoom in by pressing in on the R3 stick, and you change firing modes by pressing in on the L3 stick.
But grass that doesn't move, trees that can be walked through, and often blocky lip-synching (that is, when the characters' lips actually move) keep this one from being added to the steadily growing ranks of visual masterpieces.

Shellshock: Nam ‘67 is a game set in Vietnam, a gaming history genre that is slowly growing in numbers of games put out versus the amount of World War II-based games being put out.
Shellshock has been marketed by Eidos as a realistic take on the Vietnam War.
They have the “ Halo killer” Killzone coming up soon and Shellshock has not made a good case that Killzone will be everything everyone hopes it is. Then again, word is that Guerilla kind of rested on their laurels after Sony came and picked them up.

Having played Shellshock: Nam ‘67 from Guerrilla Games only on the PC, I can’t say which of those two categories the console version of the game fits into, but I can say without a doubt that the PC version was a big disappointment.
The weapons in Shellshock lack the authoritive sound of their real-world counterparts, but considering the nature of the game, that shouldn’t be a surprise.
Shellshock’s visuals look at least five years old, and remind me of another ill-fated console port that made its way onto the PC last year— Enter The Matrix.

For those of you not in the know this is not a hint that the game has added an unexpected simian twist to the usual Vietnam formula; Guerrilla is the Dutch developer behind the long awaited "Halo beater" Killzone, due out shortly on the PS2.

Yes it’s action-packed and yes the weapons and situations are true to the era but all of this just doesn’t work due to the awful controls and pretty straightforward levels that keep this from being fun.
