John Sherman Lollar (August 23, 1924 - September 24, 1977) was a catcher in Major League Baseball for the Cleveland Indians (1946), New York Yankees (1947-1948), St.
His best season was 1959, when he drove in 89 runs and smacked 22 homers while the White Sox won the American League pennant.
Lollar was an All-Star in 1950, 1954-1956, 1958-1960, and won the Gold Glove in 1957-1959.

He played for the Yankees until June 1940 when the White Sox claimed him off waivers.
In November 1951, the White Sox traded Niarhos, along with Joe DeMaestri, Jim Rivera, Dick Littlefield and Gordon Goldsberry to the Browns for Sherm Lollar, Tom Upton and Al Widmar.
On the next day, the Browns sent him, along with Ken Wood, to the Red Sox for Lee Moss and Tom Wright.
