Sherman County is a county located in the state of Oregon.
Sherman County is predominantly an agricultural county, its economy receiving some aid from ranching and tourism.
In the county, the population is spread out with 26.40% under the age of 18, 5.80% from 18 to 24, 23.40% from 25 to 44, 26.10% from 45 to 64, and 18.30% who are 65 years of age or older.

Sherman County, created in 1889, is bounded by the Columbia River on the north, the John Day River and Gilliam County on the east, and the Deschutes River, Buck Hollow and Wasco County on the west and south.
The county was settled in the 1870s by stockmen; by 1881 the homesteaders arrived, permanently changing the area by plowing and fencing the tall grass.
Administrative functions for Sherman County continue to be the responsibility of the county court consisting of the county judge and two commissioners.
