		His first night at sea, and his attention was riveted by the description of the circuitous Viking route the author had followed, from Norway to Newfoundland, via Shetland Islands, Faeros, Iceland, Greenland, and Labrador.
		He had only seen the Shetlands from the air, but recalled his total fascination with the inhospitable terrain and desire to experience it first hand.
		He had conducted assignments in Norway, had flown at low altitudes to the Faeros and Iceland aboard a prop-driven Fairchild, and now in the 90's was completely captivated by Newfoundland and Labrador.

		Albert remained with this unit for all his war-time service, later going to the Shetland Islands when the 7th KOSB were part of OSDEF (Orkney and Shetlands Defence Force).
		Then in late 1943 much to their surprise the unit was posted to Lincolnshire to become the third infantry unit in the 1st Airlanding Brigade then in the process of returning from Italy with the rest of the 1st Airborne Division.
