		Shina (支那) is a Japanese (A native or inhabitant of Japan) term that is viewed by most Chinese people as a highly offensive racist term (additional info and facts about racist term) for China (A communist nation that covers a vast territory in eastern Asia; the most populous country in the world).
		In the meantime, "Shina" was used as commonly in Japanese as "China" in English.
		Meanwhile, uses of the term "Shina" in political contexts in Japan are limited to those who ignore the Chinese demand, and are often directed with an anti-Chinese bent; thus, its modern appearance enhances its derogatory nature.

		In 1947 Shina was elected a member of the Iraqi Parliament and served until 1951, the most critical years in the history of the Jews of Iraq, which ended with their mass immigration to Israel.
		Shina himself resigned from the Parliament and emigrated to Israel, where he worked as a lawyer, serving his community and protesting against what he termed "discrimination against the Jews of Iraq, whose properties were frozen in Iraq and who were without community leaders in the new Israeli society.
