 Shinkaichi Station - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Shinkaichi Station (Japanese: 新開地駅 -eki) is the main station of the Kobe Rapid Railway in Kobe.
Shinkaichi was originally at the heart of Kobe, but Kobe's central business district has shifted towards Sannomiya.
Opened on April 7, 1968 it is the interchange between the Tozai Line and the Namboku Line.

Earthquake-induced damage was observed at the Daikai and Nagata Stations of the Kobe Kosoku and at the Shin Nagata, Kamisawa, and Sannomiya Stations of the Municipal Subway.
All stations were of cut-and-cover construction, with the most prominent damage concentrated at the center reinforced concrete columns of the stations and running tunnels.
Between the Daikai and Nagata Stations, 210 reinforced concrete columns were cracked and deformed in the running tunnel.

Late last night I was walking to the station in Shinkaichi with Kanako and Nick.
He was wearing a full station masters uniform, complete with peaked cap and fancy ass jacket and was riding what could only be described as a clown cycle with a flat rear tire.
We were wandering through the underground mall that connects to the station and there was absolutely no one around.
