		Officially opened by Governor of Victoria and Patron in Chief of the E. Tipping Foundation John Landy the service is a four-way partnership between the Department of Human Services, the E. Tipping Foundation, the Shire of Cardinia and Carers Respite Southern.
		The project was advocated by a local community group aware of the need for such a service in the Pakenham area.

		New Local Laws on burning off in the Shire of Cardinia have now come into force.
		Properties in the urban areas of Emerald, Cockatoo, Upper Beaconsfield, Bunyip and Garfield can undertake fuel reduction burns prior to the fire season between 1st September and 30th November on Fridays and Saturdays between 8am and 8pm only.
