Rail is the major form of public transport connecting Melton Township with the Melbourne central business district and suburbs.

The Bracks Government has announced the growing new suburbs in the east of Melton Shire will benefit from a new $5.5 million indoor sporting complex to be built at Caroline Springs.
Mr Haermeyer said the grant would cater for the growing communities in the eastern parts of Melton Shire, which had a current population of almost 30,000 residents.
This funding will be available to Melton Shire Council to commence the Sports Complex from July 2005 onwards.

The Melton Motor Sports Club in conjunction with CAMS Junior Development went off with out a hitch last month with around 28 juniors coming out for a fun filled.
We had the Melton Shire Mayor out there aswell which was great for the club as the Shire was behind aswell the Melton Police.
All the juniors enjoyed the day especially the chance to get behind a motor vehicle in a safe environment which gave a little bit of confidence to go and fast or as slow as they wanted.
