The Shirlington Branch Library, formerly know as the Fairlington Library, was established in 1947 at 2780 South Randolph Street, rented quarters in the Shirlington Trust Building.
In September 2001, the Library moved to a storefront in the Village at Shirlington.
The new Library in the Village at Shirlington, 2800 S. Stafford Street, opened in 2007.

I really enjoy living at Shirlington House and think that I made the best choice for me at this time.
Finally, I think that there has been a shift away from year-long leases to ones that are month-to-month since Virginia Management took over.
I cannot confirm this, since I made it up myself, but I think that Virginia Management bought Shirlington House from the old company in order to renovate and then rent the apartments at a much higher rate...more along the lines of the rent charged in the area.
