Hello, Shlomo Mintz is one of my favorite living violinists but his recordings are hard to find here in America.
Mintz performing the Beethoven concerto in the double function of both soloist and conductor, and I must say that that was totally different from the CD.
Here, Mintz, employing a flawless bowing technique as well as a phenomenal skill on the fingerboard, made his violin, believed to be a Stradivarius dating from 1716, sing magically as it pierced to the heart of Sibelius’s concerto.
