In Shoebox Zoo, the story is somewhat stranger.
My correspondent had at first just seen the sign saying "closed," and was angry at a wasted journey, but it turned out that the NAS was not closed - merely masquerading as Edinburgh University Library for the purposes of the children's television programme Shoebox Zoo.
Marnie has a magic shoebox containing animals voiced by famous Scottish actors, and is trying to find the "Book of Forbidden Knowledge" in a magical tunnel of books somewhere in the Library.
