The building of the Todaiji Temple was begun in 745 at the behest of the Emperor Shomu, an ardent supporter of Buddhism.
After its completion the temple was dedicated in 752 in the most splendid ceremony of the century, attended by Shomu (who by then had abdicated) with his wife and his daughter the Empress Koken, the entire Court and some 10,000 priests and worshippers.
In this building (normally not open to the public) are preserved art treasure of inestimable value, which originally belonged to the Emperor Shomu and after his death were presented to the Todaiji Temple by his widow and daughter.

Every of the employees (from the shacho to the shomu ni ol) has some amusing and eccentric mannerisms that make me wonder how such company manages to function in the first place :) but really, even the 'villians' in the show (i.e.
i find the story setup of 'shomu ni' rather similar to that of 'la belle equipe' and 'news no onna' where all these shows rely on independent storylines for every episode.
though the choice of casting may be available, if tcs is to film 'shomu ni' i don't think it would be able to do so with such style and mastery of the tbs crew, judging from its track records of silly and crude slapstick comedies like 'p.i.
